ok one last time. Sage V A: "The stones can only be used when your item is max level. It takes 5 stones to increase the level cap of the item by 5 levels. For instance, legendary grade items have a max cap of 100. With 5 stones it goes to 105 and so on."

here is an example for a legendary ring (max. lvl for legendary is 100) after that u can use stones.
