I switched from my Dark Sword to an inferno sword now on my stats have gone a little bit worse is there any way for me to get more attack and defense?

Use the reset option button found inside the "special" menu tab. This will change your sword stats for better or for worse. Use with caution cause it's not free and will cost you souls for each use whether the result is acceptable for you or not
