How to know who are best survivors

So for example, I have two gun survivors rank A. Which one should I discard?

You should decide based on their skills. Also when you got them there are some basic infos and there you can see who is the better one but that doesn’t really affect the gameplay at all. It’s just some fancy numbers for your eyes. So decied based on skills. Also I woupdn’t discard anything higher than B, so keep A and above and exile the rest. But that’s just me.
