if you reached the limit on a unique weapon transfer the levels over to another sword that u have stones to upgrade. so if you have a level 120 lightning sword but don't have the stones transfer the levels over to a sword say a ice elemental sword and use your ice stones to level it up then transfer the levels back to your unique sword. hoped this helped a bit.
